Corrine Curtis - Fitness had always been my passion and it was during my first pregnancy in 1985 that I started Pilates with what is now known as the Body Control Studios. It was during the 2nd pregnancy that I started my company Body Heat, and was the first to bring both sport bras and dance/street wear to London. Unfortunately the money was not available to develop it into what has now become a huge market! It did allow me to witness the fitness explosion first hand in the States and it was there that I attended many conventions and eventually became qualified in many different types of exercise formats.
I also appeared on the Good Morning Britain show with Nick and Ann on the BBC for 2.5 years with a lovely man called Clayton Marshall, we gave a daily 3 minute exercise slot (filmed in shopping malls) to the British public. We also travelled nationwide promoting Get Britain Fit and I think it was then that the decision to become a Personal Trainer began. I continued to practice Pilates with Trevor Blount and was trained by him as a full instructor by the end of 1997. I started to work in 1995 for Mark Birley at the Bath and Racquet Club for 2 years which gave me a huge understanding both of weights, gyms and the male attitude (men only club)! It was here that I met Josh Salzmann and learnt his manual resistance method - we have been a team ever since.
